Why I became a travel advisor and why I am hoping you will want to join our team.
I love to travel, I always have. Road trips, Europe, cruises, bike trips, tropical vacations…I am a dork for history, love to meet new people, learn about their cultures, try different foods and embrace new cities and countries.
But having said that the travel industry was never on my radar, with everyone Googling flights, Expedia etc. why would it? But being a travel agent is so much more than booking flights-it’s creating experiences. Travel packages that include not only flights and hotels but excursions including everything form private yachts/snorkeling/kayaking to hiking/climbing/bungee jumping, skiing trip, wine country, museums & cooking classes-just to name a few.
In joining a larger company, under their umbrella I have access to travel companies that I would have had to have spent years building relationships with and yet the flexibility of being an independent contractor. I wanted to get into the travel business without starting from scratch and building it from the ground level.
